REVONOC

REVONOC is a 45’ LOA offshore keel/centerboard yawl designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by Nevins in 1946. She was originally built for the yachtsman Harry Conover to compete in the Newport-Bermuda race.

Gannon and Benjamin has worked with REVONOC’s current owners over 3-winters to complete a thorough rebuild. She was sailed during each season as the rebuild continued.

REVONOC had previously been reframed/re-planked before coming to G&B. In 2016, we replaced the keel timber, centerboard bed-logs and all floor timbers in the mid-area of the boat. We also fabricated a new bronze centerboard trunk and reconditioned the top of the lead ballast. The following winter we replaced her fore-keel and horn timber, strengthening each of these areas as we completed our work. Thurlow Rigging built new spars and replaced all the rigging returning the rig to her original configuration. Lastly, in the winter of the 2018 we replaced the cockpit following the original plan, also converting her back to tiller steering. During this 3-year period all of her systems were replaced or upgraded, and her interior was changed back to her original layout. In 2022, REVONOC competed in the Newport/Bermuda race for the first time in over 60 years.
