DESIGN

At Gannon and Benjamin, we have been designing exceptional vessels for over forty years. Whether creating a custom design or thoughtfully updating an existing boat, our vessels are known for being fast, seaworthy, easy to sail, and beautiful. We blend traditional design principles with modern innovation to craft boats that are not only functional and durable but timeless.

“In my few years of ‘messing about on boats,’” says Nat Benjamin, “I have tried to include the basic ingredients for safety, speed, and comfort, with a strong emphasis on good looks. I am not concerned with any rating system; I prefer to see men, women, and children sailing with a smile. I feel it’s very important to keep an eye on current trends, but not to be influenced by the glitter, only the grace.”

Our design team includes Nat Benjamin, whose work spans everything from dinghies and daysailers to schooners, all celebrated for their speed, seaworthiness, and simplicity. He is joined by Antonio Salguero, an experienced shipwright and owner of Coastwise Marine Design, Inc., and Lyle Zell, a seasoned boatbuilder with expertise in traditional methods and a graduate of the Maine Maritime and Landing School Yacht Design Program. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and passion to every project.
